New York City downgraded to Winter Storm Warning
From the National Weather Service:
- Winter Storm Warning in effect until midnight.
- Blizzard Warning has been canceled.
- Locations: New York City, southern Westchester County in southeast New York
- Snow accumulation: 8 to 12 inches
- Winds: northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
- Temperatures: mid 20s
- Impacts: dangerous travel conditions continue due to snow, blowing snow and gusty winds. Some roads may be impassable. Strong winds may down power lines and tree limbs.
- Blizzard conditions will continue today across much of Connecticut and Long Island.

Connecticut governor lifts travel ban
Statewide travel ban will be lifted as of 2PM today. We still encourage all residents to limit travel and use common sense while driving.Jan. 27, 2015- Reply

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy announced the statewide travel ban will be lifted at 2 p.m., and that bus service will resume Wednesday morning.
"We are through the worst of the storm," Malloy said.
The governor thanked the state's residents for staying off the roads, noting that there were just 15 accidents since the travel ban went into effect Monday night.
Travel bans in neighboring states of Massachusetts and Rhode Island are still in effect, Malloy added. -
