By the way, the musicians who don't win for Best Original Song this year really shouldn't feel too bad. Some of the greatest movie songs of all time, like "Stayin' Alive," "A Hard Day's Night," and "Purple Rain," weren't even nominated, incredibly. Here are some other huge cinematic anthems denied their Oscar glory: https://www.yahoo.com/music/18-movie-music-classics-snubbed-c1424291413767.html -
There are some great nominees in the very competitive Best Original Song race in this year. (I'm rooting for Tegan & Sara with the Lonely Island, but hey, that's just me.) But will any of this year's nominated songs have the staying power of iconic '80s winners "Flashdance...What a Feeling" and "Take My Breath Away"? Yahoo Music recently caught up with 74-years-young production pioneer and Daft Punk pal Giorgio Moroder, the man who produced and wrote those hits, to talk about his random access memories of Oscars past: https://www.yahoo.com/music/what-a-feeling-giorgio-moroder-dishes-about-his-111511671461.html -
Oh, man. "Lost Stars" probably won't win Best Original Song, but if it does, you know Adam Levine will never stop rubbing it in Blake Shelton's face. Even four fist-shaped Voice trophies aren't nearly as impressive as just one Oscar statuette. (To fair, Adam will just "win" by association; the Oscar will officially go to the song's writers, Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois. But still.)

Whoever wins Best Actress this year, I seriously advise her not to make out with Fred Durst in a music video. That was not a good post-Oscar career move for Halle Berry in 2003. For kicks, check out 15 music videos, including Limp Bizkit's "Behind Blue Eyes," starring Oscar-winning actresses: https://www.yahoo.com/music/15-music-videos-starring-oscar-winning-actresses-111344987216.html -

Watch Terrence Howard get oddly emotional while introducing Best Picture nominees
by Dylan Stableford
If you were confused watching Terrence Howard introduce the Best Picture nominees at the 87th Academy Awards show Sunday, you weren't alone.Howard became visibly — and oddly — emotional onstage while presenting a montage reel of the film nominees.
"Our next film is amazing," said Howard, a 2005 Best Actor nominee for "Hustle & Flow," as he introduced "The Imitation Game." He then appeared to stray from the TelePrompter, "I'm blown away by it myself."
He went on to talk passionately about the Civil Rights historical drama "Selma," and an audible cracking noise could be heard in the background as Howard spoke:
Viewers were, understandably, more than a bit confused. Is Terrence Howard this moved? Or is something else happening? #NPROscarsFeb. 22, 2015- Reply
