Gwyneth Paltrow's Ralph & Russo couture dress is confusing. She looks beautiful — her makeup is on-point, her blonde hair is immaculate, and accessories are amazing — but the shoulder's organza flower detail is distracting and the flower seems as if it's growing out of her body.87th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals87th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Here we go! Neil Patrick Harris is singing an opening number written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, the married couple who won Best Original Song last year for "Let It Go" from Frozen. I also hear that there will be a new song from Marc Shaiman, a previous nominee for "Blame Canada" from South Park. NPH is a season musical theater performance, winner of last year's Best Actor in a Musical Tony Award for "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."

Hello everyone! Welcome to our live coverage of the Oscars show! This is Jordan Zakarin, hanging here with Gwynne Watkins and music editor Lyndsey Parker. It's been a long awards season, and we still don't know who's going to win Best Picture ('Birdman' or 'Boyhood'?) or Best Actor (Michael Keaton or Eddie Redmayne?), so there's plenty of intrigue in store. Plus, we've got an amazing host in Neil Patrick Harris, who is about to kick it off with what should be a super-fun opening number.
